The history of the Chiusa Grossa Winery dates back to thirty years ago. It was then that Bruno Biscotto, fascinated by the beauty and uniqueness of Montalcino, met a man, wise, who worked that land, as his parents had worked it before him. Bruno’s passion for wine started back then.
In 2018, together with his sommelier daughters, Emanuela and Elisa, he decided to go to the market. A new brand was born, inspired by deep respect for viticulture and enology, as well as the awareness that one cannot improvise in viticulture.
Wine is both simple and complex and the result of a long, never linear, process. Chiusa Grossa’s wines are characterized by two closely linked identities, stemming from the two vineyards where the grapes are harvested. One, in of Sant’Angelo in Colle. The other, in Castelnuovo dall’Abate. The result is a blend of two ‘cru’, metaphor of a family bond.
